Traffic!

We are completely stopped on I-40 east of New Mexico.
The van next to us each had a lolipop so the girls had one too.
Thankfully I had a bag in the glove box.

Photos of the girls!

I recently took some photos of my close friend and her sisters. While preparing for the shoot, I dressed my girls up and fixed their hair. (which for those of you who know me, that is a feat!) The first few shots were so beautiful. So here are some photos of the photographer's kids! Miss P is finally getting some hair! Curls just like her big sister! Not sure if Monkey's eyes could be any more beautiful!

We are leaving tomorrow for 18 or so days to Arkansas! We have been packing and preparing for the trip all day. The girls and I have journals to write in and draw photos of what we have seen. Oh, did I mention that we will be driving there? Daddy and I are hoping to make it all the way to Flagstaff tomorrow! Ten hours in the car. Thank goodness for DVD players nowadays! Especially with carseats being a law! I remember when we were younger, dad would lay the seats down and my sister and I would have blankets to lay on and lots of games to play. We could even nap comfortably! I just figured out how to post from my mobile phone so this blog just might have gotten easier for me! Until then....Kel

The photographer who doesn't...

...take enough photos of her own kids. That would be me. I have tried much harder in the last two months to photograph my own children as well as the hundreds of other kids I photograph for work. We've been on a couple of great trips lately. The first one was a whirl wind trip to Reno, Nevada; Salem, Oregon and San Rafael, CA for my photography. The girls and I left daddy for almost 3 full weeks (although it seemed much longer!) We drove up the NW with G.G. and Dooda in their big motorhome. The first stop was in Lodi at a KOA. It was very cold the next morning but we took a nice walk/bike ride to the office for some hot chocolate. After our beverages, we drove all the way to Reno and stayed in the Boomtown campground. There was a small park nearby and the girls and I played on the slide for a little while. On the drive, I began reading the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. Unfortunately, I was hooked instantly and couldn't put the book down. I read until 2:00 a.m. that night (which with the time change for daylight savings) ended up being 3:00 a.m. and I had a trampoline meet to photograph that morning! Woops! At least I finished the book. The trampoline meet went fairly well. Not as good as I had hoped, but the parents are getting used to seeing me at the meets and know I'll be at State and Regionals this year.

After the meet, we headed north towards Oregon. We drove through some snow and stopped for the girls first experience with snow! Presley wasn't too fond of her hands getting wet and cold but Marley had a blast. She instantly starting throwing snowballs and even laughing when G.G. hit her with one!
